Managua Department

Managua department (see map) lies along Nicaragua's central Pacific coast, wrapping around the southern portion of Lake Xolotlan. It shares a border with Matagalpa department to the east/northeast; Boaco department to the east; Carazo, Masaya and Granada departments to the south; Pacific Ocean to the west; and León department to the west/northwest.
